Annie Hockey is the Head of Consulting at Skytale Group. As a former management consultant, entrepreneur, and business owner, Annie provides Skytale a wealth of knowledge as both an operator and trusted advisor. She plays a crucial role in managing Skytale’s consulting practice, as well as ensuring Skytale’s clients are best equipped to identify and unlock their business potential.
As someone who has experienced both sides of building and acquiring businesses, Annie supports her team and clients through her unique combination of operational and strategic insight. She joined Skytale Group after founding and serving as Co-CEO of Column N.A., a nationally chartered, technology-focused bank based in the Bay Area. At Column, Annie led the acquisition of a community bank and was responsible for all associated board and regulatory approvals in addition to the integration. She also led various functions including Compliance, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs; People Operations and HR; and day-to-day branch operations. She currently sits on the board and serves on several board committees.
Prior to Column, Annie worked at Bain & Company, where she advised leading companies on core business initiatives and strategy. Her projects primarily focused on post-M&A integration and turnarounds, most often for private equity owned companies. This advisor vantage point complements Annie’s on-the-ground experience, allowing her to bring a high-level strategic approach to both clients and investors hoping to take their practices to the next level.
Annie brings her experience across strategy, business development, integrations, technology, and management not only to Skytale’s Executive Team, but to every business owner she serves, from growing entrepreneurs to established investors.
Annie graduated with honors from both Stanford University and Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, where she was an Arjay Miller Scholar. She also serves on the board of a nonprofit focused on remediating youth economic inequality and advises the Stanford Technology Ventures Program and Stanford Women in Tech Entrepreneurship program, which supports the development of female leaders. In her free time, Annie enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and Labrador.
